Manager capability journey at PhonePe
Outline
We have three levels of courses for managers at PhonePe, depending on the experience level:
- Foundational level - This workshop is designed to support participants in making the critical transition from Individual Contributor to People Manager at PhonePe, equipping them with the foundational skills needed to excel in their new role. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the key principles of managerial effectiveness at PhonePe and learn how to navigate the shift from independently executing tasks to delegating responsibilities effectively. The program also emphasizes core managerial capabilities such as hiring the right talent, providing meaningful developmental feedback, and utilizing powerful tools such as 1:1s, enabling managers to lead their teams with impact and purpose.

2. Intermediate level - As managers progress in their leadership journeys, their responsibilities expand significantly. This module equips participants with the ability to craft compelling narratives, enabling them to influence without formal authority and inspire teams toward a shared vision. It emphasizes the importance of keeping teams engaged, consciously shaping a thriving team culture, and fostering an environment where a growth mindset flourishes. Additionally, managers will learn to handle conflicts constructively, promoting healthy collaboration and sustained team performance.

3. Expert level - For people managers to truly become leaders, they must develop an eye for the future and must strategically shape charters with a vision for scaling both individual and collective contributions, ultimately driving meaningful impact and unlocking long-term impact at the organizational level.
